No dinner for me :( had hello panda (strawberry) for dinner... that's no good. I need more nutrition.

I think im going Okinawa next week... half excited but half pensive cos im damn busy.. oh well.. time for sushi whacking!!!

Blog

Im amazed at who reads my blog really and at what freqency. Yokie msned me this morning to ask how come long time no update my blog, cos she's so bored at work. I "apologised" for being busy at work.

Noah jus asked me how come i long time no blog just 30 mins after i blogged abt Gay #1's farewell.

Shitfong and I were having the conversation abt mahjong when i blogged it. And almost immediately, he called me a geek for blogging it immediately... i was like.. you then geek, u read my blgo so often for wat...

Some n00bs i got to know recently have told me they read my entire blog... all 300 entries of the past year... gosh.. and they told me the same thing abt me.. Two people whom i just got to know... 2 separate individuals saying the same thing..they said:

1. I have a wall
2. Im feeling lonely
3. One of them said i was very secretive.. hahahah, which is true... there're no pics of me or my friends on my blog. I once put a pic of my colleague in front of the office christmas tree but i've since removed it. and anyone who stumbles onto my site wont be able to tell wat i do at work. hahah oh well..

Mahjong

Mahjong is all about permissions... when you play mininum 1 tai, you need to have 1 tai before you have the "passport" or the "permission" to win the game.

Mahjong is a game for 4 people. And it's always extremely difficult to find 3 other people to be able to spare such an extended legnth of time on a weekend no less to play mahjong. Even harder to get 3 other people i like, since im pretty much a people-hater.

Hustle and Bustle

In a little small ruckus that ensued when Gay #1 left, he finally left, but not without sending a scathing email to my big big boss in NY. And he bcc-ed me. haha.. basically, i've worked with him the longest and closest and im his remaining friend in the office (funny as how it sounds, if you have been following my blog). And so, we ended with a hug.. 2 hugs in fact.

Not many people who can bear hug me actually end up doing it but he did. He teared a little and i nearly did as well. It was a love-hate relationship.. the mutual respect we had for each other in being good at what we did and the mutual disdain we had for each other for the lack of respect we accorded to the other.

Nevertheless, as his bristled cheek brushed my scarred face, we parted.

PDA

There's been an entry in my PDA all week.

Since this Monday, it says "Week 4". From Monday to Friday, it shows "Week 4" as an all-day event.

The thing is, i cant remember what "Week 4" is supposed to be... scary sia...

Promotion

I heard from Gay #1 that i'll be promoted soon.. going to have some re-structuring and all.. so as i mentioned a couple of weeks/months ago, ya.. im gg to be promoted. And since i already know abt it some time back, no huge surprise... no huge jubilation.. jus came a bit earlier than Sept...

Not trying to be funny la but i've nvr used up my name cards before... at every rank ive been.. ive nvr finished using before i need to change cos i get a new title..

Great Singapore Sale Roundup

As promised, here's a roundup of my GSS spendings. One would have to remember i put off buying many things in the previous 2 mths.. ok.. 1 mth la.. so that i can take full advantage of the GSS to get them cheaper..

I was on my way to Bangkok when the GSS started.. so i decided to buy something to commemorate it while i was at Changi Airport.. so i bought this Burberry polo tee.



Then on my way back, i bought this Jim Thompson tie at Bangkok Airport.. muhahahaha.. i know it's not in Singapore.. but cos Jim Thompson is cheaper in BKK than Singapore by abt S$20 so mus whack lor.. so i bought this tie..



Anyway, for you seasoned thailand travellers, have u ever wondered how come there're so many Jim Thompson silk shops in thailand? he was the dude who revitalised the thai silk industry while he was working in Thailand as a CIA agent..that's how come Thai silk is so famous now.. but then he disappeared mysteriously, never to be seen again. Conspiracies abound.

Enough of bull shitting..back to the impt matter at hand:

Then i went shopping and very fortuitously i saw Hugo Boss got sale...i got this tie



and this shirt..(nowadays im into this pinkish, orange fad. So that's what the gahmen meant abt pink dollars)



Hugo and his friends blew a huge hole in my wallet but when i was signing the bill, i was trying to act casual.. you know like it's no big deal.. muhahaha.. then i saw that they overcharged me by S$40!!! then i jus let go.. pity they didnt give me a free tie as compensation.

And in between all these i got a pair of shoes too.



Then i got this Tumi laptop bag.. good one.. im very pleased with it.



After my shopping trip last friday, i got this Issey Miyake cologne..



and CK boxers..i think they're a bit too big..



and some CDs.



*phew* No more spending for some time...

Books

I love books. I remember being a librarian in Pri Sch cos librarians can borrow 2 books instead of 1. I actually started off with Nancy Drew..cos i thought Hardy Boys was a cheesy name. But i noticed no one (i come from an all-boys pri sch) borrowing Nancy Drew, but all chionging Hardy Boys. So after finishing half of the Nancy Drew series, i switched to Hardy Boyzzz.

But I'm too cheap to buy any books, so i either borrow from the library, or 2nd hand book stores or wait till Keeve buys them and borrow from him.

So there're no books in my room.

It's been a long time since i read. Reading reports all day at work and after work means that i prefer to be in front of the computer when im not reading. <~~~ ok, that doesnt sound very right but i dont care.

So for my leave, i decided to borrow these..



which i promptly finished in the first few days.. then i went to get these on Friday..



I finished Running Blind in a day.. soooo good.. and now i have 2 days to finish the other one..

Shopping

I ended my leave with a round of shopping on Friday.. Part of the reason of taking leave in June is so that i can go shopping in the day time when there's no one and just enjoy myself..

And so i did.

Armed with my iPod, i walked from Isetan to Wheelock, to Wisma, to Taka, to Centrepoint..bought quite a few things... that'd come in another post.. a GSS roundup.. muhahaha..

I had some Jap food craving and decided to whack some sakae sushi.. not the freshest sushi around but i was very hungry so i decided i shldnt go to too ex a restaurant.. It was weird to eat alone at the counter and I watched a vid on my ipod while eating.



10am to 6pm... it was a fulfilling day. An apt way to end my leave.

Hmm

I was at the doctor today and the receptionist was quite pretty and I heard her giving some relationship advice to this young person who was also there to see the doc.

When it was my turn to collect the medicine, i made some small talk..

Me: So you dispense relationship advice other than medicine too?

Pretty Recept: Well, sometimes they tell me things and I tell them what i think lor.

Me: So how long have you been working here?

PR: Abt 1 year now. But i've been in this line for almost 3 years.

I was like... ermm... in this line? What did that mean? did she dish out r/s advice for 3 yrs now? or did she work as a receptionist for 3 yrs now? Didnt know that receptioneering was counted as a "line".

New Keyboard and Mouse

My wireless keyboard has been giving some probs for the longest time in that the base station to charge the wireless mouse is spoilt and everytime i got to change the batt manually using my own rechargable batts. I took the opp of my leave and drove down to get it changed cos Logitech has a whopping five year warrany..amazing..

and here i have my new wireless keyboard and mouse..the LX 3000

so chio right??

Woe Cup

After some ruckus with starhub who didnt activate my WC subscription, we can now watch World Cup..

I watched the opening match in Phuket..



Complete with thai commentary.. all i kept hearing with juergen klinsman...

here was my supper for that night.



I actually dozed off after 15 mins.. hee hee..

Didnt manage to post these pics when i was in Phuket..too busy..

well, here's where i stayed.. quite a nice place.. actually, no.. it's very nice.. very huge place though. I got lost a couple of times.

I just wanted to drop a note to tell you all that Ill be in Phuket from Wed 18:30pm to Sat 2035.. coming back in time to watch England's opening match in the WC.

Im hoping to catch the earlier flight that gets me home by 17:30pm.... still on wait list for that.. so most prob land at 20:35.

The trip's jus in time, was wondering what to do this weekend.

Oh it's my mum's bday today.. 060606... im actually pretty sad that i didnt manage to have dinner with her and dad.. only reached home at 11:30pm.. :(

Phuket

Seems like I'll be going to Phuket this week.

Never been to Phuket before. I wonder what it's like. I'll be staying at the JW Marriott. Looks quite nice from the website but then again all the website pics all fake one.

Some reasons why i cant be an SQ Steward

Everytime i fly, i see these stewards, and I make up this ever-growing list in my head.. it's time i penned some down.

1. I dont like to fly
2. I dont look good in a light blue blazer
3. I dont look good
4. I never really aspired to be a waiter, albeit the flying kind (read reason #1)
5. I'd not like to sit facing backwards when the plane takes off/lands
6. I'm bad in situations where there's a lot of food around me
7. Pretty stewardesses only jump into bed with pilots
