Frenching it up

I might have mentioned that my bosses are quite ferocious and intense people.

This client came to us and requested for an expression of interest for their project and requested it in English and in French.

I prepared it in English and asked my boss if we want to get it translated into French.

My Boss’s reply was “If they are a decent company, they should be able to read English or have advisors who read English. If they are offended, remind them that if it weren’t for the Americans, the Frenchmen would be drinking lousy beer and driving Volkswagens and saying ‘Hail Hitler’”

To show my knowledge of history, I HAD to add “ Thank god for Normandy then”. I wanted to add “and the paratroopers from the 101st Airborne” but I thought that was too much.
