Nerd, Geek or Dork???

Are you a nerd geek or simply a dork?? take this test to find out..

i think it's not very accurate.. it's says im a pure nerd... how can that be?? im so cool and cute...

" You scored better than half in Nerd, earning you the title of: Pure Nerd.

The times, they are a-changing. It used to be that being exceptionally smart led to being unpopular, which would ultimately lead to picking up all of the traits and tendences associated with the "dork." No-longer. Being smart isn't as socially crippling as it once was, and even more so as you get older: eventually being a Pure Nerd will likely be replaced with the following label: Purely Successful. "

Army Half Marathon

I'll be running the 6km fun run tmr at the Sheares Bridge Run/Army Half Marathon... i actually trained for the 21km AHM during my army days until i fractured my ankle.. which was quite sad cos i was kinda looking forward to running it... yeah i was pretty crazy then..

but well, after a haircut and a facial today to prepare for the run, i went down to safra to register for it...gosh, at S$8, the shirt is so chio lor and it's made of the same material (feels like la) as the Dri-Fit in nike shirts which they charge a bomb for...

so nice right...

i hope i dun die halfway.. hmm.. no, i prob wont die la.. hope i dont appear too shacked in front of the other runners...

Stoopig Sony earphones

bleah.. got this pair of Sony Ex-71 when i got my new ipod a couple of months back.. but cos of its rubbery material, many sections of it got torned.. sianz... here's a pic of the sorry state it has become..

my dear fren Aaron, offered to sell me his brand new Bang and Olufsen earphones which he got for his bday for S$160.. quite ex leh...

so i went to SPUG (no need hyperlink la hor) and asked... a couple of brands came up.. shure, audio-technia, etymotic.. all cost freaking more than a bomb lor..

but then someone found this lobang which gets us shure in-ear earphones quite cheaply.. so thus, we have an MO (= Mass Order, geekspeak for ordering a large quantity of geeky items in order to secure a discount to have more money in future to procure more geeky stuff)

here's a pic of what im getting.. i cant wait...

Red Bomb

i got a red bomb from my primary sch fren a few weeks ago. bleah.. sianz... it was a dumb way that i bumped into him abt a year ago and then he got my hp.

apparently, audrey and i were walking along Orchard when we saw this gal we looked super duper like our uni frend, but jus a fatter version.. then we realised it might be her twin sister whom we have heard abt. so i was eyeing her when the guy she was with jus yelled " XX!!!(replace XX with my chinese name)" . I was like hey!!! oh wow.. such a coincidence hor.. wah.. her sister is our uni fren.. blah blah..

and now he invited me to their wedding...

suntec ballroom 3, next week..

i asked my dear frens in SPUG how much ang bao to give... seems like it's S$80 - S$100.... no prizes for guessing how much im gg to give eh..

i was told some sec 1 and 2 frens would be there...gosh... so so so long ago.. almost 10 years never see them liaoz leh..

i wonder what i'm going to wear... my blue suit or my black suit

Week of Buffets II

8 Sept finally came. i went to the gym in the morning in preparation of the sinful gorging we would have in the afternoon.

the lunch was booked for 5.. for the ple in the office who werent travelling. S couldnt go cos she had to make an overseas call. so H went.

Sashimi came hard and fast.. salmon, tuna, sotong, yellow tail, salmon belly, snapper..so much sashimi, so little stomach space.. then there was tempura, soba, japanse curry, more tempura..

in between the whacking and gorging and stuffing, H announced that he was leaving the company. it wasnt exactly new news cos we all kind new but jus not official... now that he announced liao then can talk abt it openly lor... i was kinda sad he was leaving cos he really really taught me a lot when i joined the company and the times we went to hong kong and bangkok on assignment were so fun.

*ok the last line sounded gay but i dun care*

back to the more important thingy...we jus whacked and whacked lor..haha.. but when it came to pay, H whipped out the company credit card and said " i made an announcement today, so this is technically an official lunch. so can claim".

WOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

i saved S$35!! hahahahahhha kio dio!!!

now we all wonder wat S would say.. cos she does the accounts and she'll certainly not be very happy that we claimed that lunch n she didnt go..

muhahahahhahaha

so great to leave on a bang like this (at least it was a bang for me). like ORD mood in army like that.

Week of Buffets I

My colleagues A and M were in a craving for some jap food and i suggested this highly recommended jap restaurant, Ioki in Miramar Hotel. i never went there before but i heard it's quite good and you have to book 1 mth in advance to book for dinner. so we decided to go for lunch instead. we booked 8 sept.

but on 7 sept, we felt hungry and quite sian at work. they asked me for a suggestion. i said how abt dim sum... their eyes lit up!! haha. bunch of greedy shits.. but where to find a lunch buffet for dim sum.. lo and behold.. i remembered my classmates and i went to this miramar restaurant (not to be mistaken with the jap one).. S$10+++ pax nia.. cheap cheap gam jia jui...

and so we went, with full knowledge that we were going to do some serious sashimi and tempura whacking thw folliwng day...

, ha gaw, beancurd skin roll, char siew bao, pheonix claw, wantons, and more wantons, beancurd skin roll, ha gaw, siew mais and more prawn paste chicken... gosh, we were seriously filled.. but wait, there was dessert.. mango pudding and watermelon sago.. choices choices..

i went for both.

at the back of my mind, i knew i had to go gym the next morning...

Gym-ing

after that aaron's mum, who has probably never seen me for 20 years, said i was fat, i just felt so... sian... (for lack of a better word).

i decided to be serious this time and get down to some gym-ing and toning and some semblence of a healthy lifestyle. And since i work such horrendous hours, i decided a good time would be to go to the gym early in the morning before going to work.

so there i went, for the last 2 weeks, i was in the gym by 7am on tuesdays and thursdays.. hitting the threadmill, then weights, then threadmill again and crunches..i duno if i lost any weight, since i dont have a weighing machine at home. but i do feel a little ligher. Maybe it's jus pyschological.. and well, whatever works eh...

harlow everyone

it's been a long time since i posted liao.. and i realised that there're more than just four people who know of my blog...

HARLOW EVERYONE WHO'S READING.. *WAVE*

i'll be careful what i say from now...

Project Superstar

I never really watch this show but my mum and sis watches this so sometimes i just vegetate in front of the box with them.

seems like the blind dude Kelvin (whom i saw his audition on tv too) and Kelly are the finalists. And i read in today's Today that lo and behold Kelly's biggest fan is a cerebral palsy patient and they had a picture of him in a wheelchair and holding her single...

There's only so many sympathy votes to go around leh....

Purchases

Stoopig aaron asked me to go have lunch and coffee with him and VON ... made me go to orchard and made me indulge in some retail therapy.... bleah.... in the end, i bought two things i've been eyeing for a long time now..

A belt..

A Crumpler pouch to put in iPod or camera or Mini... i've been holding off for some time as it's kinda bulky and tacky to be hanging by my bum..but well...yeah..

What a dumb ass...

I've been exfoliating and using the pore pack to smoothen my uber rough face and remove my innumerable blackheads for almost 3 years now.. yes.. i know all abt pore packs opening up your pores in the long run and how come ple tell me pore packs dont work.

well, they work for me. everything i use it, i remove all those disgusting yellow and oily blackheads from my nose and it's very gratifying to see them all gone n stuck on the porepack rather than residing in my nose...

well, this isnt to recount my poring exploits but rather this dumb ass thing i did when i exfoliated last sunday... i could feel that my pore pack was dried already and ready to be peeled. Moreover, i wanted to show my sis how disgusting the blackheads will be.. so i jus yanked the porepack out...

At first, i felt a raw sensation on the side of my nose.. i tot i scratched it..but it wasnt till i bathed that i felt it..

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!

i actually pulled off a piece of my skin on the nose from the pore pack... gosh... it's not very big.. i mean, i have a big nose, but still, the nose is a small part of the body....gosh.. n now there's a lil red line on my nose. i knew then that my colleagues would be making fun of me..

and i was right.

here's a pic of it.

A Story

there's the guy who decides to send his ex girlfriend (thereafter known as the "gal") a piece of cheesecake on the 1st anniversary of their breakup.

he realises it's a weird gesture. it's not as if such anniversaries are a celebrations of sorts. but he thought that since 1 yr ago, it was a shitty day for him, he thought he'd make the day, one year later, a better one for her.

then he realises that the actual day is a saturday. so he decides to send it on friday. so on thursday, he goes to a place he knows that sells good muffins and cheesecakes. Kept it in the office fridge and couriered it the next day (friday).

the courier dude was supposed to come at 9am. but he didnt come to the guy's office till 10. the guys becomes afraid that the cake wont reach the gal in time for tea time at 1030am.

After a hectic day of meetings, it's 4pm n he wonders if the courier screwed up when the gal didnt call. he decides that he had no mood to work then left for home.

she calls him. the gal calls him and thanks him for one of the best cheesecakes. he feels happy.

later in the night, she smses him " wana do dinner tmr(saturday)?

he thinks " that's pretty weird. we have not gone out on a weekend for a year. sure, we have met up for lunch almost once a mth.. but never on a weekend. n there she asks me out on our one year breakup anniversary"

he agrees anyhow. (were u expecting otherwise?)

and so they go to this place called Little Bali near Gilman heights.. it's supposedly a quaint little chill out place with "not-bad" food.

as fate would turn out, the drinks were cheap but the food was expensive and extremely sucky. small portions and sucky food. utterly the worst combi, especially for the food aficionados...

but they had a good time talking.. good time chatting and catching up. it was like they havent met for a year and it was a big catch-up session. No longer were they constrained by the lunch-hour.

they ordered a cheesecake for desert.. lousy...they then decide to head off the holland v in search for some food to satisfy them...

they settled on gelare n continued on the catching up.

they parted that nite with the promise that they shld do it more often.

Aunty Attack

And so my mum sees my air refreshener.. she likes it and wants to get it for the rest of the house including for my sister's room.

I told her my fren, Keeve, says taka sells it for S$19, instead of the S$28 i got it for... (which made me sian 1/2). She tells me to buy 2.. one for the living rm and one for my sis...

"Fine", i thought.

"And 2 more for my fren," she continued.

I was like WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERT?? she expects me to carry 4 of those all the way from taka. imagine the stares i'll get. they must think my house stinks...

Aunties...

gosh, that's a lot of geek talk early in the morning..

here's a pic i took when i was at the airport in Bali.. damn bored sia... wanted to buy a mag .. duno if i shld buy a Comopolitan or a Marie Clarie...Called Audrey in Singapore to ask for her opinion... she prefers Cosmo..

in the end, i decided to save the money to buy a car... muhahahaha ..S$16.70 into my "Cornball Car Fund".

Ended up sleeping on the airport's seating area... nodding off like an idiot.. heck care la.. im a tourist.. i have the right to be ugly n unglam..
