If you wanna see more than 5,000 years of Chinese history,

Go to Xi'An (used to be called Changan. Yes, the same Changan you see in period dramas)

If you want to see more than 1,000 years of Chinese history,

Go to Beijing.

If you wanna see more than 500 years of Chinese history,

Go to Shanghai.

If you want to see more than 10 years of Chinese history,

Go to Shenzhen.
