Overdone

The age-old cry of civil servants spending their time on useless things is a well-documented and often justified one.

I'm not one usually to care how the government spends its money, as I'm quite a spendthrift myself but some faux pas have made me chuckle like the renaming of Marina Bay to... Marina Bay.

Then there's the KPE. The engineering wunderkid that is Singapore.

For the opening of one section of the KPE, we have:

1. A brand new radiostation
2. Car decals
3. Tee shirts
4. A CD aptly named - Songs of the Underground
5. Wallpapers
6. A very impressive website http://www.kpeunderground.sg/, which gave the completion date down to the hundredth of a second. Like a 100m dash that god-forbid a foreign nation like Malaysia should win by completing just 0.01 second before us.

The website's pretty weird. The "Benefits" section has a map which lists the districts which benefit from the KPE. When you mouseover on each district, the distances between the other districts shorten. Like dat only ah?
